Comment:
Plasmodium vivax immature schizont in thick film. The parasite is badly shrunked and distorted and further examination to find more characteristic forms of the parasite in thin films was necessary before a diagnosis could be made for this patient. Slow drying would have allowed shrinking of the parasite and also it looks somewhat smaller than you would expect with P.vivax but it is because it is in a thick film and so not as flattened as it would be in the area of ideal thickness of a thin film.
